crowdfundingI won’t deny that the world of crowdfunding can be confusing, particularly for crowdfunding novices looking to raise money for their NFPs.  However for those already bamboozled and confused by all the different sites out there, Crowdfund It! might be a great place to start to help demystify the whole process.

Anna Maguire is the brain child behind Crowdfund It!, which as it turns out is a blog to support a crowdfunding book of the same name.  Her site essentially features regular updates, events, campaigns and general advice on crowdfunding.

Firstly let me point out that Crowdfund It! gives a wonderful breakdown of all the platforms in Australia and New Zealand with a comprehensive summary detailing the 3 Fs – Focus, Funding and Fees.  This portion of the blog would be a perfect starting point for those looking to find platforms geared toward their project or event.

Secondly, the site is full of helpful information to aid those looking to raise funds for their projects, NFPs or otherwise.  In fact, after reading the blog I learnt that Chip In is an Australian based crowdfunding platform created especially for NFPs looking to raise money for their project or cause.  In the creator’s words, “Chip In is a platform which showcases unique organisations doing extraordinary things in our community that need support.”  More information on Chip In can be found directly on Anna’s blog here.

The blog or book has no hidden agenda except to support and grow Aussie crowdfunding and to promote excellence and innovation globally and this would seem to align with NFPs ideas on fundraising and promotion of their organisations.

To stay in the loop, make sure you subscribe to the blog so you can ensure that the latest crowdfunding information will wend its way to your inbox as soon as it is published.
