If your not for profit organisation is a tax concession charity and has deductible gift recipient status then you should consider applying for a grant from the Ian Potter Foundation. As the Ian Potter Foundation is commemorating 50 years of operation in 2014 it has made available $4 million dollars of grants as part of a 50th Anniversary Commemorative Grants program. Click on the link for more details.
There are two main themes that are the focus of this grants program. The first theme relates to building communities through the development of strong, resilient communities in rural, regional or remote areas in urban settings. The second themes relates to developing effective organisations that bring about positive social change involving well managed and properly resourced organisations, that respond creatively and effectively to the needs of their constituents.
Grants will be between $200,000 and $500,000 and for the successful applicants the funds will be made available as one-off payments during 2014. As the grant applications close on Tuesday 25 February 2014 there is still plenty of time to prepare your application. It is worth noting that in addition to this commemorative grants program, the Ian Potter Foundation is still providing other grants as part of its normal grants program, so even if you are not eligible for these commemorative grants you may be eligible for funds from the normal grants program.
If your organisation is eligible to submit an application there are also good resources and information on the Ian Potter Foundation website that will help you prepare your application. As such, follow this link to the 50th Anniversary Commemorative Grants program for more information.
