Was your treasurer pushed into the role or did he or she volunteer? If it was not a voluntary choice, you may have some work to do.
It’s likely that your volunteer would be more committed to the role than someone who “had to” do it. Involving someone in your work for their own reasons is much more effective than forcing them to do it for yours.
