What could your organisation do with an extra $10,000 dollars? Would it help your organisation to be able to expand the services that you offer to your local community? The Westpac Community Grants are something you need to consider applying for.
If your Not for Profit is involved with improving the lives of disadvantaged Australians, then your group can apply for a community grant from Westpac that is worth up to $10,000. In its third year, the Westpac Foundation has already provided over one million dollars of funding for community grants. These grants have helped over 113 Not for Profits to expand their operations. By supporting and encouraging growth, Westpac is helping these groups to increase the impact of their programs and improve the lives of the residents in their local community. This year, a total of $530,000 in grant money will be available for disbursement through the program.
In general, the funds from the grant are used to support and build upon the core operations and services provided by the organisation. This expenditure can even include salaries and other running costs related to the core operations and long term sustainability of the organisation.
Westpac will be accepting applications for the grant through March 31st, with the winners announced in June. Of course, there are certain qualifications for the grant. If your organisation has gross revenue of less than $3 million annually, works to improve social disadvantage in your local community, did not receive funding from the Westpac foundation for 2013 and has Deductible Gift Recipient Item 1 status with the Australian Taxation Office, or has been auspiced, then your organisation should certainly consider applying for the grant in 2014.
Please visit the Westpac Foundation to discover more information about the terms and conditions to be qualified to apply for and receive the grant as well as to apply.
