It’s not easy working for a not for profit organisation. In many ways people expect more from you than they would if you worked Ina a business which generates profit. Sometimes, the pressure to perform above and beyond normal standards is something we put on ourselves.
Rather than succumb to stress or illness due to overwork, perhaps you could achieve more simply by changing the way you do things. Apps, in particular, can be handy tools in this situation.
Here are just a few that we’ve tracked down which you might like to take a look at. Each will help you boost your productivity without stress.
1. Pomodoro
This app is based on The Pomodoro Technique which s a popular time management method that teaches you to break down your work into 25 minutes intervals separated by short breaks. The principle behind it is to have you focus on a task for a short while and then take a break so you don’t burn out.
2. Evernote
Evernote is an easy-to-use, free app that helps you remember everything across all of the devices you use. It lets you take notes, snap photos, create to-do lists, scan business cards, record voice reminders–and it makes everything searchable, whether you are at home, at work, or on the go. Keep all your notes in the one place for easy retrieval.
3. Dropbox
You can now drop all your files and photos into Dropbox so you can access them from anywhere, with any device, or so you can share them easily (via link) with your work mates.
4. Quip
This handy app combines messaging with document sharing into a single chat-like “thread” of updates — making collaboration easy. Now you can share documents as easily as sending a chat message.
5. IFTTT
If yon haven’t’ discovered this app yet, you will be surprised by what it can do. “IFTTT is a service that lets you create powerful connections with one simple statement: If This Then That.” You set the app to trigger the next step in a given process. For example, IF you receive an email (THIS) it can be set to send the email to a certain place. (THEN THAT) It connects major systems like Evernote, Facebook and Dropbox so that you can use each in a single automated app.
There are many more apps out there, of course. Choose the apps that meet your specific needs and circumstances. Most are available for both Android and Apple devices.
