grant application

Some people find the mere idea of sitting down and writing a grant application daunting. However, if you prepare the application carefully and with attention to the detail, you have a good chance of succeeding.

If you are writing your very first grant application, don’t stress.  These tips will help you through.  Make sure you come back tomorrow and read part 2 of our tips.

Have a clear idea

Make sure you know exactly what you want and how it will look like when you do it. In other words, develop your idea, visualize it, and check everything important detail or element.  It’s something you will have to do anyway when you get the grant. The more specific you can be in your description, the better.

Have a clear plan

Don’t expect things to fall into place.  The people who process and review your application just won’t buy that. You need to have a clear plan of action. What exactly comes after what? How you are going to achieve it? Who needs to be involved?  What is the expected outcome? You need everything considered, estimated and calculated before you start writing.

Tomorrow we will continue with some more tips to help you win your grant.
