When posting to your NFP’s Instagram account, it’s also a good idea to show consistency and adopt a posting schedule, so that followers can have some idea as to when they can expect to see new content and news from you.
While you can literally post any image or video that you want to your account, it’s best to stick with images that will help others to visually understand just what it is that your NFP stands for and why they too should consider supporting your cause.
The following are a few ideas to get you started posting content that will help others understand your NFP’s mission.
- Post images with short captions that showcase volunteers and how they are helping your cause.
- Images that highlight your NFP’s special events, fundraising campaigns, and merchandise that is for sale can help your NFP receive the funds that it needs for special projects and accomplish other goals in your community.
- Share an “insider’s view,” of the work that your NFP does, such as board meetings, or service projects shows how work gets done to help your community and builds trust and respect.
- Invite others to share their images that relate to your NFP and its mission. Repost content from donors and volunteers and tag them with relevant hashtags so that others can see the support that your cause has from the eyes of its volunteers, donors and others in your community.
- Images that are captioned with helpful tips and advice create a sense of being “in it together,” and build connections with your community.
- Don’t forget to show your appreciation and periodically post a note of appreciation or simple “thank you” to your donors, volunteers and others in your community for their help and support.
